iPad Poster Session 2016 ... A good time was had by all!

The 2016 iPad Poster Session, held on April 5, was a great success! The display room was full with amazing poster presentations representing the work of 60+ ESL teachers around the district and their hundreds of ESL students. The energy, enthusiasm, and excitement in the room was contagious as visitors--teachers, administrators, central office staff--roamed from table to table talking with presenters, collecting resources and handouts, ideas and give-aways. It was a wonderful opportunity for presenting teachers to proudly show off the great work their students have done during this 2015-16 school year. Everyone left feeling accomplished and looking forward to next year, with new challenges and opportunities to take the learning to the next level.

We all appreciate the behind-the-scenes work done by the CMS ESL Technology Team – Bill King, Kristen Baker, Mershon Viscusie, & Alyssa Arrowsmith – which was outstanding. The work and encouragement and coaching of this truly extraordinary team of experts not only made this culminating event possible, but was the impetus and backbone of our year-long project to accelerate learning for our students (& ourselves)...to stretch and grow as professionals....to become more proficient with using technology as a teaching and learning tool -- not just to 'consume' but to CREATE and share!
