Google Expeditions at Reedy Creek

The Google Expeditions Pioneer program visited Reedy Creek Elementary on Friday, March 18th. Camille Bourguignon and Debi Sosa applied for the Google Expeditions program as a result of our iPad PLN this school year that focused on virtual field trips. Students in 2nd-5th grades were immersed in 20-30 minute Virtual Reality expeditions around the globe using Google Cardboard viewers. A Google associate trained teachers in the use of this new classroom technology in preparation for the student excursions. We were amazed at the Science and Social Studies academic vocabulary that our ELL students used to describe the places that they viewed. Students visited the moon, various biomes around the world, the White House, and countries from around the world! Please click on the link below to enjoy a short video of a Google Expeditions visit to a classroom to see how the technology impacts learning. http://goo.gl/3JSr0h
